How to Find Your Economic Impact Payment

This article is being provided through our partnership with Spidell.

A welcome announcement came from the IRS this week: Marin taxpayers who don’t have their Notices 1444 and/or 1444-B, Your Economic Impact Payment, can view the amounts of their Economic Impact Payments through their personal IRS online account.

Once taxpayers register for and log into their accounts, they can view the amount of their two separate Economic Impact Payments under the “Tax Records” tab. Married taxpayers filing MFJ will each need to sign into their own account to retrieve their separate amounts.

This is something taxpayers will have to access on their own. Tax professionals may not log in and get the information without their clients.

    Accessing the online account

Taxpayers can access their online account through a secure login at www.irs.gov/account, or by going to www.irs.gov and clicking on “View Your Account” and then scrolling down and clicking on the “Create or View Your Account” button.

First-time users must authenticate their identity through the Secure Access process. To learn about setting up their own online account, and what information they will need for registration, taxpayers should go to:

Taxpayers who previously created a Secure Access username and password for the Get Transcript Online, IP PIN, or ID Verify online programs can use the same username and password when accessing their individual account online.
